Wow.

And this guy is ready to lead the United States in the international arena?  Either ignorance or a bold-faced lie engineered to deceive the American people.

Either way, this is bad news on two fronts: 1. CBS left McCain’s true response on the cutting floor when this sort of thing is clearly news-worthy. 2. McCain is running on a platform that purports him to be integrous and able to lead the U.S. on the world stage.  His response shows the contrary on one or both counts.  And this isn’t the first time he’s done this.

From where I sit, the Republicans are offering us more of the same.

And all this after I said I wasn’t going to talk politics.

    the way you wrote that post, it sounds like you really want mccain to convince you to vote for him, but the reality is its just not happening.

    Not necessarily.

    The platform that McCain is running on is one of connectedness, capability in the international arena and integrity. I’ve spoken to friends of mine who are more positive about McCain than they would be about Obama. These are three areas that they have specifically mentioned that are important to them.

    I think McCain is conscientiously campaigning on these three issues (plus others, of course) and it is surprising to me to see something like this that is so concretely NOT what he wants people to see.

    And then CBS leave it on the cutting room floor? That’s whack.

    Not really. I was here four years ago. No CBS coverage in España.

    Tried to figure out who owns CBS to see if there would be any interest there in covering up McCain’s answer, but its too confusing.

    of course no cbs in spain (come to think of it, i was in spain for all of 04 too), but with the plethora of news outlets/blogs on the net these days, i thought you might have heard about it. basically, in the run up to the 04 elections, cbs used some shady documents that reflected poorly on GWB’s time in the military. turns out the docs were fabricated and cbs was duped. it led to dan rather resigning from his new anchor position and some top execs at cbs news got the ax. but hey, no one’s watching the nightly news anymore, right? ;)
