Relaunching Our Newsletter

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

06-09-Sophia N Josiah
Heather, Sophia and I have started up our newsletter again after almost a year without it. We’ve been keeping in touch with our supporters on a monthly basis via email, but we haven’t sent out a wider email newsletter. It feels like it is time to retake that practice, so we’ve set it up a newsletter list service over at mailchimp.com.

I know that I probably haven’t got most of the people that visit this blog on that list. If you are interested in hearing from us on a regular basis, click on the “subscribe” link in the sidebar under “Our Newsletter”.

We’re putting a lot of effort into our email updates this time around. We actually pay money to send these out in HTML format. I think they are good value and will allow any of you interested to keep up with what we are up to and what our current needs are to continue the work we are doing.

Thanks in advance to all of you who sign up!

Mellybaby
Its official. Mel Gibson is a nut job. But I still kinda like him. I think he’d be my type of guy.

Go here and watch the trailer for Mel’s new movie. This frame is spliced into the trailer towards the end. I have never seen anything this whacked out and playful in a mainline movie trailer for a drama. Laugh of the day for me.

24-7 Prayer Roundtable and Int’l Leader’s Gathering

Brian Andy Prayer-1

There has actually been so much already written on this subject by different bloggers that I feel loathe to put out the effort to tell the stories that they have already so effectively told. For now, here’s a list of the links I’ve been able to find chronicling this years gatherings:

Explanation of what these two gatherings were meant to be here, courtesy of Toggers and the 24-7 UK crew.

Wardy’s take on the Roundtable here and here.
::–> Honestly guys, Shmuel did a majority of the work on the presentation. I watched and learned- a ton. Working with him really helped me get clear in my head some of the structural changes we are making this year. There is a long road to walk until we get it right, but we’ll get there.

Aaron’s take on the ILG here.

Togger’s take on the entire week here. Lots and lots of links and pics.

Adrian gives us the irish perspective here and here.

And even though he never got around to really saying anything on his blog about the Roundtable and ILG, I’ll throw a link in here to Brian’s blog. He’s pictured above, bald guy. Such good entertainment value. I know its your life Brian (if you’re reading this), but you are so gosh darned interesting.

Frazzled.

Frazzled

Overworked, overstudied, sick, tired, spread very thin. That’s how I’ve felt for the month of September. Not to get into details, but the past 3 or 4 weeks have been pretty tough. Today is the first day in at least a month that I’ve been able to dedicate to emails, admin and stuff like blogs and forums. My school year is over on October 18th, so after that I should be slightly more chilled.

My ‘about’ page

Monday, September 11th, 2006

frustration.jpgI’m terrible at writing something even remotely intelligent about myself. After trying over the past couple of years to get something coherent down for my ‘about’ page, I am giving up.

I challenge all of you loyal readers out there to come up with something better than I have been able to. Shouldn’t be hard as I have come up with a big zero up to this point.

Leave your attempts in the comments box.
