A few days ago, part of my iBook’s power adapter broke off (it’s a bit inside the lit up plug in thingey on the picture). It kept working, so like a typical guy I just plowed on through life waiting until something really stops working. Well, after a weekend at Jesús & Rachel’s (where it didn’t want to work for a bit, but a quick jiggle got it going again) it has finally given up the ghost. At least it’s just a power supply and nothing else. I took the computer and power supply into a service shop on the other side of town and the technician marvelled at my ability to break things. He found the way in which the power supply had been broken pretty impressive.
I think God must have given me this penchant for breaking expensive things to remind me that my home is not in this world, hold “things” loosely, etc. Ho Hum…
For those of you who pray, we could really use another computer at some point. The desktop that Heather has been using for the past couple of years is getting pretty out of date. A lot of the stuff that she would like to be able to do with it, she can’t because it is simply too slow to run the software necessary. Said iBook should be good for a bit longer, but it is showing real signs of slowing down. It is also a bit worse for wear as I travel a lot with it and it has picked up some dings.
