Whew! Jonah’s mom got back to the States just fine with no problems except for an interesting episode with a taxi driver in Madrid that charged her half of what he should have and something about waving money in his face… who knows…
We have really enjoyed to the max the past week of solitude, no visits (almost), rest, decorating the house (it only took a year), and catching up on emails.
Jonah’s laptop hardrive crashed last friday, so that was a bit of a bummer. He might have lost about a month’s worth of emails as it looks like it was a hardware problem and he wasn’t able to recover anything before turning it in for repair. What a bummer!
It has been a tough beginning of the week… Misunderstandings on several ministry fronts led to negative feelings towards us on Monday. Things seem to have cleared up, but I was feeling particularly down on Mon. and Tues. Plus we went on Mon. night to see “The Pianist”, the new Roman Polanski film about WWII Poland, which was exceedingly depressing.
We could use your prayers!
We got Kati back last night. She is in good spirits and REALLY glad to be home. Seems to have contracted Kennel Cough while at the kennel (funnily enough) so we’ll be taking her to the vet next week to get some antibiotics.
Jonah’s mom is enjoying life in Sevilla. Showed us her pictures from her summer trip to Italy which was also her last time to see Uncle Steve alive. It was very touching to see pictures of them together having a good time just 2 weeks before he died.
Madrid is cold too. Not as cold as England, but is definitely giving them a run for their money. It will be good to get home this evening.
Heather went home yesterday afternoon as she had voice lessons to give last night. My mother and I head down to Seville this afternoon. Yahoo!
We’ll also get our beloved dog back from the kennel this evening. The custodian that has been in charge of her said he had never seen a dog with so much energy! oh boy.
Hey there!
We’ve been completely on the run since I last wrote. We returned home from Madrid, cleaned house like mad, rested a bit, Heather had class and gave some voice lessons and then turned around and headed back up to Madrid to fly to England.
We’ve been here about 6 days participating in various 24-7 prayer meetings.
It is so completely FREEZING here. We want to go back to warm sunny Spain.
Seriously, our time here has been fantastic. The meetings have been really useful and we’ve gotten tons of work done.
We head home tomorrow. My mom should be waiting for us in Madrid when we arrive. FUN!
See ya…
